Analysis of social security systems using an overlapping generations model

Professor Tomoaki Yamada from Meiji University, a co-investigator in our project, held a lecture on the methodology of analysis of social security systems on July 21 at the Graduate School of Economics, the University of Tokyo.
Prof. Yamada presented a paper, which is a joint work with S. Imrohoroglu (USC) and S. Kitao (Keio University), and gave a brief overview of related research. The potential impact of various guest worker programs proposed by the Japanese government on fiscal sustainability was evaluated numerically using overlapping generations models.
