Pretest for the National Survey on Family, Births and Work

At the end of October we conducted a pretest for our newly designed survey, the National Survey on Family, Births and Work in the Low Fertility Aging Society, which continues data collection in the footsteps of the long-running Mainichi Survey (discontinued at the beginning of this century) and the Nihon University National Survey on Work and Family (NSWF).
Out of 1,020 respondents, 870 answered the questions and wrote their thoughts and impressions on the questionnaires. We shall use those comments, as well as the input of foreign scholars from the fields of psychology and reproductive health we have consulted, to finalize the survey questionnaire.
The actual survey will be conducted next year on the sample of approximately 8,000 respondents.
